Scanning electron microscope study and computer analysis of taxonomic distances of the marine Podonidae (Cladocera)

The different theories about the taxonomic position of European marine Cladocera have been confronted with the results of comparative investigations performed with scanning electron microscope and mathematical clustering analysis. It appears that both genera, Evadne and Podon, including the six species of Podonidae, have to be considered as valid.
