On the sample validity of the Longhurst-Hardy Plankton Recorder for fish eggs and larvae

Received on October 1, 1980; accepted on May 1, 1981 Ascent and descent profiles of ichthyoplankton obtained with a Longhurst-Hardy Plankton Recorder (LHPR) were compared using a Wilcoxon paired signed ranks test. No significant differences were found thus providing evidence to endorse the validity of sampling of the LHPR for fish eggs and larvae.
